Liverpool are working to sign both Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

As the Reds struggled through the 2025-26 season, the general consensus was that their biggest weakness lay on the wings, and that multiple new signings would be needed in the offseason. The departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of the campaign made the matter more pressing. Victor Muñoz arrived from Osasuna early in the summer as a good first step, but more was clearly needed, and it now appears the Reds may be close to getting it.

Reliable reports from France today have Liverpool agreeing personal terms on a five-year deal with PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye. RMC Sport's Fabrice Hawkins suggests there is no doubt who Mbaye will join next.

Bayer Leverkusen are also said to have been trying to convince Mbaye, with the Bundesliga side perhaps better able to offer the 18-year-old a near certain starting role. But the draw of Liverpool and the Premier League appears to have won out, at least assuming a fee can be agreed with PSG.

If that happens, Mbaye likely will not be the only winger arriving from PSG. Bradley Barcola, 23, remains fully committed to joining the Reds for the upcoming season, and there is talk of a potential double-deal that could see Liverpool pay upwards of £150M for the talented young duo.

With Muñoz already signed and a need to preserve a pathway to playing time for Rio Ngumhoa, the arrivals could lend credence to rumours that Cody Gakpo might end up joining Tottenham, and may himself already have agreed personal terms.
