Marshall Women's Soccer (1-1) suffered its first defeat of 2026, losing 4-0 to High Point (1-2) on Thursday afternoon in High Point, N.C.
The Herd fell behind by three goals inside the first 25 minutes and could not recover. Marshall outshot the hosts 18-16, had eight shots on target to High Point's seven, and earned seven corners to four. Coach Rafa Simoes's side created those chances.
In the second half, Marshall had opportunities to get back into the match, with Larissa Ozorio and Bailey Fisher each hitting the crossbar. High Point's Sabba Haghgoo completed her hat trick in the 56th minute to finish the scoring. Junior goalkeeper Emma Durand made four saves.
Marshall will have a quick chance to respond, coming home to face Wright State on Sunday evening, August 23, at 6 p.m. Tickets can be found HERE.
