Harrison Butker has found a way to succeed that others missed. Not long ago, much of sports media and other legacy media tried to ruin his career because he is a religious Catholic. His crime was sharing his views, including that a family should be the most important thing in most people's lives, at a commencement speech at a Catholic university. He was swiftly condemned by many, while the NFL rushed to distance itself from those views and reaffirm its commitment to diversity.
Still, to their credit, the Kansas City Chiefs stuck by him when others might have cut him to avoid angering the sports media. They are likely glad they did. The 31-year-old made 33 of 38 field goal attempts in 2025, with a long of 59.
