Mainoo Eligible Despite Omission From United’s Premier League Squad

Man United submitted their squad list to the Premier League on Thursday but there are some big names missing including Kobbie Mainoo and...

Kobbie Mainoo will still be eligible to play for Manchester United in the Premier League this season despite not being named in the 23-man squad list submitted this week.

United were required to submit their list to the Premier League after the transfer window closed on Tuesday. A total of 23 players have been included on the list, though Mainoo and Leny Yoro are just two of the notable absentees.

The pair were left off because they are classified as Under-21 players, meaning they were born on or after 1 January 2005. As a result, both remain eligible to play in the league despite not being on the squad list.

United could have named as many as 25 players on their squad list, yet only 23 have been submitted.

Manuel Ugarte is included on the list despite suffering an injury during the World Cup that could see him sidelined until next year.

United will have the opportunity to amend their list after the mid-season transfer window closes.
