After a turbulent week of transfer speculation, Cody Gakpo let his play do the talking. The Liverpool forward was decisive against Ipswich Town, assisting both Alexander Isak goals in a 0-2 away win.
Liverpool began brightly and scored almost immediately. Gakpo, repeatedly linked with a move away this week, drilled a pass to Isak after a dazzling move, and Isak finished with power. Kjell Scherpen got a hand to it but could not keep it out, making it 0-1.

After the break, the match drifted with little action in either box. Szoboszlai thought he had earned a penalty when he went down, but a lengthy VAR review showed he was offside in the build-up.
Later, million-pound signing Bradley Barcola came on for Liverpool, with Gakpo shifting to a more central attacking role. The Frenchman could not make an immediate impact, but Liverpool did not need one. The win was already secure at 0-2.
