Four La Salle players scored as the Explorers beat Monmouth on Sunday in West Long Branch, New Jersey, extending their winning streak to three games. Junior Alberto "Toto" Esquivel Meza opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 15th minute, the only goal of the first half. Junior Gabe Faust added a goal in the 47th minute, his fifth in the last five games, bringing his season point total to 10. Sophomore Julius de Vries scored in the 51st minute, his second goal in as many matches. Senior Kyrese Lynch-Bailey finished the scoring with a penalty kick in the 54th minute. Sophomore Davin Millisock assisted on the goals by Faust and de Vries, a career high for a single game. Monmouth scored twice in the second half but could not complete a comeback. La Salle outshot the Hawks 17-16 and put 10 shots on goal to Monmouth's seven. Graduate student Maxamilian Retzer made five saves and allowed two goals. The Explorers wrap up their road trip and return home Saturday to face Rider at 6 p.m., livestreamed on ESPN+.
