The Falcons' healthy quarterback options are shrinking. On Saturday, the team announced Cooper Rush is dealing with back spasms. Rush was named the Week 1 starter after Tua Tagovailoa was ruled out with the oblique injury he suffered during Thursday's practice. The Falcons still expect him to play against the Steelers.
Michael Penix has been ruled out while recovering from last season's torn ACL, leaving undrafted rookie Jack Strand as the only other available quarterback.
The Falcons also elevated linebacker Bralen Trice and tight end Nick Muse from the practice squad, and placed offensive tackle Cameron Williams on injured reserve.
