The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a four-year, $75 million contract extension with tight end Tucker Kraft, a deal that can reach $92 million with incentives. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the agreement on Saturday, noting that Kraft received a $26.5 million signing bonus. The deal was struck just a day before Green Bay's Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Packers have since announced the extension. It is the latest in a series of moves by general manager Brian Gutekunst to lock up core players. While the team has seen departures this offseason, including wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay has secured cornerstone players on both sides of the ball. Kraft follows Jayden Reed and Christian Watson as offensive players who have recently received new contracts, while linebacker Isaiah McDuffie and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt also earned extensions.
Following news of Wyatt's extension on July 20, Rapoport said Kraft could be next. That has now proven true.
The new deal comes with uncertainty, as Kraft is returning from a torn ACL that ended his 2025 season early. The 25-year-old is ready for Week 1 without restrictions, and Green Bay is confident enough in his health to make this investment.
Kraft was a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and emerged in his second season with 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2025, he started strongly alongside the Packers. Over the first seven games, Green Bay went 5-1-1, with Kraft posting 30 catches, 469 yards and six touchdowns. His run-after-the-catch ability and chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love were key. He was injured in a Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and the offense clearly missed him for the rest of the season.
The Packers are banking on Kraft's return to help them in 2026 and beyond.
