Philadelphia – Temple men's soccer (0-6-2, 0-2-0 American) lost 3-0 to No. 12 Missouri State (6-0-1, 2-0-0 American) at home on Sunday afternoon.
Missouri State took an early lead when Diego Real scored in the 6th minute, assisted by Daniel Souza. The Bears doubled their advantage in the 28th minute after a shot from outside the box deflected into the net, making it 2-0 at halftime.
Temple created several scoring chances in the second half and moved the ball more effectively, producing six shots in the final 45 minutes. The Owls had their fair share of opportunities, some right on the goal line, but could not beat goalkeeper Fernando Alves Schmelz. Missouri State added a third goal in the 72nd minute, with Ben Furlong scoring off assists from Fionn Mooney and Victor Wachowicz, to seal a 3-0 win.
